Russia’s SUEK sets record high coal output of over 100 mln tns
MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Siberia Coal and Energy Company (SUEK) has set a record annual coal production by exceeding 100 million tonnes in mid-December, the company said in a statement on Friday.
“The figure of 100 million tonnes is a result of our large-scale investment, constant technical upgrades, and tense and professional work of every one of our almost 33,000 employees,” the company quoted CEO Vladimir Rashevsky as saying.
Development of the company’s assets, improved production and investment in upgrades allowed SUEK to raise coal output to 97.8 million tonnes in 2015 from 53.8 million tonnes in 2002, the company said.
